Connections Planning
Our Unilever team is looking for a Planning Director to join the team. You will be adept at managing a fast-paced, high-volume client in a planning role.
The connections planning team at Mindshare bridges the gap between our strategy and investment teams. Our role is to turn insightful strategies into actionable media plans that deliver Good Growth for our clients. Connections planners think big picture, collaborating with multiple teams, stakeholders and agencies to ensure campaigns are fully integrated.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with media lead clients.
- Develop future fit, market leading campaigns for your brands.
- Responsible for leading planning response to brief:
- Receive and interrogate briefs, understanding both business and communications objectives.
- Working with the strategy team to create actionable comms tasks.
- Use client and/or platform data to uncover insights to inform planning.
- Application of relevant marketing science and media planning principles.
- Addressing comms task with the relevant roles of media and channel selection.
- Exploring the tactics within each channel that unlock the objectives.
- Ensuring all work is measurable back to brand and business outcomes.
- Lead agency village to deliver integrated campaigns across paid, owned, earned, and owned touchpoints.
- Engage with media partners to stay ahead of changes to the landscape and new capabilities of each media touchpoint.
- Engage with internal product teams including GroupM proprietary product and service teams to ensure understand the relevance of their offerings to the clients.
- Deliver relevant updates to the clients including inspiration sessions, media landscape updates and new opportunities.
- As a senior member of the planning team, you should lean into developing the junior team members.
- Create and foster a cohesive team environment through team activities and cultural moments.
- Motivate the team to achieve individual, team and organizational goals.
- Develop and train team members to ensure they reach their potential.
- Enrich planning and buying practices to improve product, collaborating with practice leads where relevant.
Experience
- Advanced media planning knowledge and skills with strong ability to utilise agency and industry tools to support planning recommendation.
- An understanding of the role media plays in the broader marketing plan and its impact on other areas of the business.
- A keen interest in and understanding of relevant marketing science literature and its application to media planning.
- Well versed in the application of data and eCommerce strategies into planning responses.
- An understanding of how brand and performance media can work together to deliver overall objectives.
- A drive to find innovative and disruptive solutions to creatively solve client challenges.
- Experience leading complex media campaigns with multiple stakeholders.
- Requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
