About the Role
SRV RoadFreight is a leading road freight company with extensive interstate operations and a long history of demonstrated excellence within the industry. We are seeking an experienced and skilled tradesperson with workshop management experience to join their Brisbane (Yatala) team. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our fleet, and the successful candidate (with administrative support) will oversee maintenance, servicing, and repairs of heavy vehicles while leading a dedicated workshop team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily workshop operations, ensuring timely and effective maintenance and servicing of heavy vehicles to uphold safety and compliance standards.
- Lead and mentor a small team, including experienced tradespeople and apprentices, to drive productivity and skills development.
- Oversee diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance of a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate parts, tools, and resources to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the workshop.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe and organised workspace.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Experience working with Cummins engines.
- Demonstrated experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, repair, and servicing, with a strong knowledge of diesel engines and related systems.
- Proven experience managing small teams, including mentoring, and developing apprentices.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a commitment to maintaining high standards in safety and service quality.
