Your role at St John of God Health Care
St John of God Midland Public Hospital is a major public and private hospital, providing care to the east metropolitan and wheatbelt regions. It provides a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery. It is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government and St John of God Health Care.

Midland Hospital has made a significant investment in technologies across all aspects of care. We need a Business Partner to:

  • Work closely with caregivers across the site to ensure technology solutions support SJGHC\’s strategy, as well as ensuring Digital and Technology (D&T) services are delivered within agreed Service Levels.
  • Manage relationships at a senior level, providing the link between the wider group and D&T.
  • Act as the primary interface between D&T and its customers, responsible for identifying and capturing demand, developing and enhancing relationships with key stakeholders, managing customer expectations and feedback and overseeing service delivery for the assigned portfolio.
  • Participate in the creation of key business and technology strategies and enterprise architecture to enable them to bring value to the relationship with their business stakeholders.

The Position

  • Build deep knowledge of stakeholder operations and maintain positive relationships.
  • Develop relationships within D&T to understand processes and governance.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align initiatives with SJGHC\’s strategy and technology roadmap.
  • Help business leaders articulate needs and act as a technology advisor.
  • Plan and evaluate new initiatives, integrating digital strategy into business plans.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize existing systems to meet strategic objectives.
  • Communicate D&T updates, achievements, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate interactions between D&T and business units.
  • Educate stakeholders on processes, roles, and capabilities.
  • Manage relationships, expectations, and service levels with stakeholders.
  • Establish communication channels across functions and collaborate on multi-year capability roadmaps.
  • Lead the project initiation phase by working collaboratively within D&T to define scope and provide high-level estimates for initiatives.

You will possess a degree qualification in a relevant discipline and have significant experience in contributing to the development of IT strategy and Enterprise Architecture. Additionally, you will have a proven track record of influencing senior executives and developing and presenting business cases to support key business decisions.

To succeed, you will have proven excellence in building and maintaining relationships, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels. You will demonstrate strong critical thinking, lateral problem solving, and quantitative analysis skills when addressing business challenges. Additionally, you will exhibit a facilitative management style that fosters trust, encourages initiative, and promotes teamwork.

  • A fixed term full-time role working 76 hours per fortnight (contract available until Dec 2026)
