We currently have an opportunity for an IT Portfolio Demand Manager to join our team, based in Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne. This role is responsible for overseeing and aligning IT demand, portfolio planning and prioritisation, ensuring initiatives are routed to the correct delivery pathway and that demand is reported on and reviewed in line with defined governance. This role involves close collaboration with business units, IT teams, and other stakeholders to prioritise and manage initiative intake, assess feasibility, as well as responsibility for tracking benefit realisation across the SI&CS PMO portfolio.
What you\’ll do
The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:
- Act as the main liaison between business units and IT to capture and assess new project demands.
- Manage the intake process, including the evaluation, prioritization, and filtering of requests.
- Conduct regular reviews of new requests, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and available resources.
- Responsible for the demand management framework to improve visibility and control over IT project requests.
- Track, report, and communicate portfolio performance metrics, resource utilization, and ROI. Monitor and report benefits realisation of the initiatives that are delivered through the SI&CS portfolio.
- Implement and refine governance structures to improve portfolio performance and project alignment.
What you\’ll bring
- Experience in demand management, portfolio management, and IT strategy.
- Proficiency in portfolio management tools (e.g., Asana).
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to balance and prioritise competing demands and complex project portfolios.
- Experience working within a governance framework and knowledge of ITIL, Agile, or other relevant methodologies.
- Experience with reporting benefits realisation would be advantageous.
