IOR is a family-owned business based in Brisbane, which has been fuelling Australia’s industries for nearly 40 years. The business has been growing rapidly and consistently in the last decade in particular, and is now the only fully integrated, 100% Australian-owned fuel company in the country. Our operations span the entire country and the entire fuel value chain: a crude oil refinery, two import terminals, a growing bulk delivery fleet, on-road and on-airport unmanned refuelling networks, infrastructure manufacturing, and proprietary fuel management technology.

About the role

Due to continuous growth, IOR is seeking an experienced Senior User Experience (UX) Designer to lead and influence the design strategy for our large-scale organizational transformation initiatives. This role will involve collaborating with both offshore and onshore teams to conduct comprehensive user research, creating intuitive and visually appealing interfaces, and ensuring seamless integration of front-end elements with back-end functionalities. This role is on a 12-month, fixed-term contract, based out of the Cannon Hill (Brisbane) office in our Software Engineering Team.

  1. Lead UX design efforts for organizational transformation projects
  2. Collaborate with offshore and onshore teams to deliver high-quality designs
  3. Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and design mockups based on user research and testing.
  4. Work closely with engineering teams to resolve technical debt and improve the overall user experience, including UAT to redefine design
  5. Support the development of UX design standards and best practices.

About You

  1. Proven experience in leading UX design efforts for large-scale organizational transformation projects, collaborating with engineering teams to resolve technical debt and driving business transformation through UX.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
  3. Extensive experience as a UX Designer, preferably within a software engineering environment, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX design for complex web and mobile applications.
  4. Familiarity with design systems, agile methodologies, and modern development frameworks.
