This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing tech company at the forefront of ESG developments. As an ESG Project Lead, you will play a pivotal role in helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals. As a senior member of our dedicated 14+ ESG team, you will provide expert guidance on ESG regulations, reporting frameworks, and best practices, ensuring compliance and driving meaningful impact. This is an ideal position for an experienced ESG practitioner to gain high levels of ownership, leading client projects and shaping technology solutions that drive value for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Own a portfolio of client projects end-to-end – Leading interactions with senior stakeholders at large European companies.
Typical projects:
- Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) / European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) – guiding companies through compliance, reporting processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Double Materiality Assessment – conducting and advising on double materiality assessments and identifying relevant stakeholders and IROs.
- EU Taxonomy – assessing eligibility and alignment, as well as calculating key performance indicators (KPIs).
- ESG Data & Software – leveraging technology to enhance ESG reporting, data management, and analysis.
Requirements
- Experience & Expertise:
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in ESG advisory, sustainability management, ESG analysis, or sustainable finance.
- Must have experience working with senior clients and leading projects end-to-end, from solution ideation to successful delivery.
- Proven track record of working with ESG reporting standards and frameworks such as CSRD, ESRS, GRI, TCFD, CDP, SASB, or ISSB.
- Practical experience with CSRD implementation, including double materiality assessment and report preparation.
- Experience supporting ESG reporting, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze and interpret ESG data, conduct materiality assessments, and measure sustainability performance.
- Bonus: Proficiency in carbon accounting methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi, PCAF for financed emissions. )
- Experience using ESG data platforms, reporting software, and automation tools is a plus.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Demonstrated ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders, including C-level executives.
- Strong presentation and report-writing skills , with the ability to communicate complex ESG topics clearly and concisely.
- Experience engaging with investors, auditors, regulators, and sustainability teams to ensure ESG compliance and best practices.
- Language & Software Proficiency:
- Fluency in English and German (mandatory).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for ESG data analysis and reporting.
- Mindset & Approach:
- Results-driven, solution-oriented, and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving ESG landscape.
- Passion for sustainability, regulatory compliance, and driving impact through ESG initiatives.

Location:
Germany based is preferred but remote setup (within ±3 hours CEST) is also possible.
