It's in charge of designing, constructing, and optimizing the robot's physical components, including mechanical parts, sensors, and electrical systems. The team collaborates closely with other departments, like software development and product management, to ensure that the hardware aligns seamlessly with software and system requirements. This involves tasks like mechanical design and prototyping of components, using CAD tools and 3D printing technologies.

Your mission & challenges

As a Design Engineer for peripherals, you're responsible for cable harnesses, feedthroughs, connectors, and mechanical interfaces across our robotic systems. Your goal: solutions that keep performing reliably in moving axes under bend-cycle and torsion loads.

• Design and routing of cable harnesses in moving robot axes
• Selection and specification of cables, connectors, and feedthroughs
• Design of mechanical interfaces (mounting flanges, covers, seals)
• Ensuring lifetime reliability (bend cycles, torsion) through testing and supplier coordination
• Creating drawings and manufacturing documentation for the peripherals

Your Profile

• Degree or technician qualification in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar
• Experience in cable harness or peripheral design (robotics/automotive a plus)
• Knowledge of cable carrier/torsion applications and connector systems
• Confident use of 3D CAD (cable-routing modules a plus)
• Hands-on, detail-oriented way of working
• Good command of German and English, written and spoken
