Distribution Center Manager Altenmarkt im Pongau We are looking for a passionate and results-driven DC Manager to lead our warehouse and distribution operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all warehousing and distribution activities at our site, ensuring optimal customer service, high-quality standards, and operational efficiency. Your focus will be on performance tracking, process improvement, cost control, and team leadership to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement. What you will be doing: DC Operations & Performance Management * Oversee and plan daily operations within the Distribution Center. * Ensure timely dispatch of products to customers while optimizing storage capacity. * Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, service, quality, and safety, implementing corrective actions when necessary. * Manage inbound shipments and optimize outbound capacity by balancing workloads throughout the month. * Maintain compliance with national and professional regulations (Safety, Security, Customs, SOX, etc.). * Implement a quality control system focused on root cause analysis and corrective actions. * Oversee stock levels of consumable materials and lead annual physical stock-taking. Team Leadership & Organizational Development * Establish a structured team with clear responsibilities across inbound, storage, outbound, VAS, local carrier management, customs, and continuous improvement. * Conduct regular performance reviews with team leaders, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution. * Define clear job roles, measurable objectives, and ensure team flexibility through cross-functional training. * Organize training plans to enhance professional skills and development and anticipate future succession plans. * Plan team vacation schedules to maintain operational continuity. Budget & Cost Control * Work closely with the finance team to define and manage the annual budget. * Review financial results monthly and drive productivity initiatives to optimize costs. * Implement and oversee cost reduction strategies while maintaining high service standards. * Maintain a permanent communication link with the brands stakeholders in order to ensure a strict follow-up on costs & services. * Provide forward-looking analysis and proactive communication in case of issues. Continuous Improvement & Innovation * Lead efficiency and process simplification projects, including labeling, packaging, material flow, and DC layout optimization. * Adapt and expand DC capabilities to support an omnichannel business model. * Drive performance management program, cost reduction and efficiency activities in close collaboration with the Lean team What you need to succeed: * Proven expertise in logistics and distribution center management (5+ years of experience). * Strategic thinking with a deep understanding of supply chain processes and lean material flow. * Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in change and project management. * Analytical mindset and ability to drive data-based decision-making. * Global experience in an international business environment. * Fluent in German and English. * Technical expertise in ERP/WMS systems and strong negotiation skills for supplier management. * Educational background in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or a related field. * Problem-solving skills with a critical and innovative approach to challenges. * Excellent communication and influencing skills.
