The Role
A technical, hands-on role where you will:
- Design and deploy real-time visual-inertial odometry and state-estimation pipelines.
- Fuse data from cameras, IMUs, magnetometers, and barometers into robust pose estimates.
- Build loop closure, map-based navigation, and re-localization algorithms for UAVs.
- Optimize perception architectures for Nvidia Jetson and low-power edge CPUs/GPUs.
- Analyze real mission logs, isolate sensor edge cases, and validate on replay pipelines.
The Essential Requirements
- Strong background in Robotics, Computer Vision, or Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc./Ph.D. or practical equivalent).
- Proven hands-on experience in Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO), SLAM, or multi-sensor fusion.
- Proficient in C++ or Python/Rust within Linux robotic ecosystems.
- Must be eligible for German/EU defence-related project clearances.
What Will Make You Stand Out

- Background in GPS-denied navigation, LWIR thermal cameras, or terrain-relative mapping.
