The Role
A hands-on engineering role where you will:
- Translate mission needs into rugged hardware designs and trade-off concepts.
- Design sealed avionics enclosures, cooling solutions, release mechanisms, and drone mounts in 3D CAD.
- Build, rework, and test physical prototypes rapidly using in-house fabrication and test rigs.
- Validate hardware performance in real-world flight tests and military exercises.
- Partner with contract manufacturers to transition validated hardware into serial production.
The Essential Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 2+ years of practical hardware design experience bringing mechanisms or sub-systems to life.
- High proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (Onshape preferred) and production drawing creation.
- Hands‑on experience integrating electro‑mechanical systems and selecting fasteners/interfaces.
- Full professional fluency in English.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience designing lightweight, rugged electronics enclosures for severe environments or MIL-STD standards.
- Knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA, thermal analysis, and FEA interpretation.
- Direct exposure to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or defense hardware platforms.
