To strengthen its Quality Control department, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional for the position of
Specialist Quality Control Microbiology Laboratory (Ref. 2779) Start immediately – 6 month contract – English and French speaking - Neuchâtel area
In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products through microbiological testing and laboratory support activities.
You will work closely with colleagues from Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Your main tasks
- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, environmental monitoring samples, and utility systems
- Execute routine release, stability, and quality control testing in accordance with GMP requirements and approved procedures.
- Support daily laboratory operations, including reagent management, material ordering, inventory control, and equipment maintenance activities.
- Review, analyze, and document laboratory data while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Participate in investigations related to deviations, out-of-specification results, change controls, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Contribute to laboratory improvement, digitalization, and automation projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and compliance.
- Support internal and external audits and actively participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Laboratory Sciences, or a related scientific discipline with 2 years of experience
- Or a Federal Certificate as Laboratory Technician with at least years of experience in a microbiological, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated laboratory environment.
- Good understanding of microbiological testing techniques and GMP-regulated processes.
- Strong analytical skills with a structured, accurate, and quality-focused approach to work.
- Experience working with laboratory information systems (LIMS) and standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
