THE OPPORTUNITY
We're recruiting a freelance Signal Electronics Engineer to support hands-on development of analogue and mixed-signal electronic hardware for demanding aerospace applications.
This position suits engineers who personally design circuits and then verify their performance through calculations, simulation and laboratory measurements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop analogue, digital-interface and mixed-signal electronic circuits.
- Create schematics and select components for reliable electronic signal paths.
- Develop or refine signal conditioning, sensor interfaces, amplification and filtering circuits.
- Evaluate tolerances, noise, performance margins and relevant EMC considerations.
- Support prototype bring-up, bench measurements, troubleshooting and design validation.
- Document design assumptions, test findings and engineering decisions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrable personal ownership of schematic and electronic circuit design.
- Strong analogue or mixed-signal electronics knowledge.
- Experience with signal conditioning, filtering, amplification, sensor interfaces or related circuitry.
- Practical component selection, simulation and hardware test experience.
- Confidence with oscilloscopes and other laboratory measurement equipment.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
- ADC/DAC interfaces, measurement electronics and analogue front ends.
- Aerospace, automotive, industrial sensing, instrumentation or medical electronics.
- Schematic and simulation tools such as Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, LTspice or PSpice.
