Enterasys Switches & Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Enterasys Switches & Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Engineer to join our network infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining Enterasys switches and wireless controllers in enterprise environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of our wired and wireless networks while providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise.

Responsibilities:

1. 4+ years of experience working with Enterasys network equipment (switches, wireless LAN controllers, access points) in an enterprise environment.
2. Strong hands-on experience with Enterasys switches, including their configuration, troubleshooting, and management.
3. Experience with Enterasys Wireless LAN Controllers and access points.
4. Familiarity with wireless design principles, including RF planning, site surveys, and optimization.

Technical Skills:

1. In-depth knowledge of Enterasys network products and their configuration.
2. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, Spanning Tree Protocol, LACP, QoS, and network security principles.
3. Expertise in configuring wireless networks with Enterasys controllers, SSIDs, and security protocols.
4. Familiarity with Enterasys network management tools like NetSight or XMC.
5. Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, PRTG, SolarWinds, etc.).
6. Enterasys or Extreme Networks certification (e.g., Certified Associate, Certified Professional) is preferred.
7. CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar networking certifications are a plus.
8. Familiarity with wireless certifications (e.g., CWNA) is a plus.
9. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. Ability to work well in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
12. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Ansible, Python).
2. Knowledge of network performance monitoring, traffic analysis, and bandwidth management.
3. Experience with integration of wireless and wired networks in hybrid environments.
4. Understanding of SD-WAN, cloud networking, and other advanced networking technologies.
