Job Overview
The Event Production Technician plays a critical role in the design, setup, and support of onsite, hybrid, and virtual events for an established global technology and pharmaceutical client.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and contribute to the overall technical strategy of live events based on creative vision and scope.
- Operate, configure, and maintain video, audio, lighting, streaming, and control room systems to ensure high‑quality delivery.
- Provide real‑time production decisions and adjustments during live events to maintain broadcast quality.
- Collaborate with production teams and clients for seamless execution across physical and virtual environments.
- Support virtual event production, including platform operations, speaker coordination, and real‑time show direction.
- Participate in pre‑event quality checks, rehearsals, and post‑event reviews.
- Assist with post‑production tasks such as basic editing, clipping, and asset delivery.
- Maintain and troubleshoot production facilities, control rooms, and equipment, ensuring operational readiness.
- Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Production Meeting Support
- Provide technical consultation on design and execution of live, hybrid, and virtual event experiences.
- Support coordination and execution of virtual meetings across platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
- Act in a producer or technical producer capacity, managing show flow, speaker coordination, and timing.
- Coordinate technical production requirements for all events, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Support presenter preparation, rehearsals, and technical checks.
- Ensure thorough quality checks of all event assets, systems, and configurations prior to production.
- Participate in post‑event reviews and technical post‑mortems to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with basic editing and delivery of recorded content and event assets.
- Collaborate on the evaluation of production workflows and recommend improvements.
- Participate in regular production meetings to align on schedules, technical requirements, and briefs.
- Technical Events
- Execute setup, configuration, and operation of control rooms and production systems.
- Validate required hardware and equipment, ensuring readiness through testing and quality control.
- Operate full production workflows, including technical direction, audio mixing, virtual and hybrid platforms, graphics creation, video playback, live streaming, and encoding.
- Apply expert knowledge to optimize configurations, troubleshoot issues, and support repair decisions.
- Support preventative maintenance across all production equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across video, audio, networking, control systems, and streaming, escalating when necessary.
- Support post‑production workflows, including basic editing and graphics creation.
Qualifications
- Must‑Have Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in live event production, broadcast, video production, or related environments.
- 3+ years of experience supporting onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events.
- Strong studio and control room production experience.
- Hands‑on operation of live event systems such as video switchers, audio consoles, robotic cameras, and playback systems.
- Knowledge of virtual production environments and enterprise meeting platforms.
- Ability to support virtual event production in a producer capacity, managing event flow and speaker coordination.
- Strong understanding of broadcast production workflows, signal flow, and live event execution.
- Ability to make real‑time technical decisions under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative.
- Strong communication skills with clients, presenters, and stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain composure and deliver high‑quality results in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments.
- Strong work ethic, adaptability, and commitment to white‑glove service standards.
- Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience with production switchers such as Tri Caster or equivalents.
- Experience with audio systems including Yamaha consoles, Dante, Shure, and professional intercom systems.
- Experience with encoding/decoding systems or equivalent streaming infrastructure.
- Experience with Adder KVM systems and production routing environments.
- Familiarity with post‑production tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
- Background in video production, communications technology, or related field.
