Job Description

As a Senior Backend Engineer , you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure, APIs, and services to support our fraud prevention and detection initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a relatively new team, where you will have the chance to be autonomous and creative in shaping our fraud prevention strategy and implementing innovative white-label solutions.

What you can expect

• Be part of a big tech organisation with 50+ delivery teams.
• Design and implement scalable, efficient backend systems to meet needs for fraud prevention across various markets.
• Delve into existing fraud systems to understand architecture, data flow, and functionality, evaluating for seamless migration to white-label capabilities.
• Build RESTful APIs and implement data validation and authentication mechanisms for secure communication, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.
• Optimize backend components for performance, scalability, and security, while considering flexibility and extensibility for white-label configurations.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure coding best practices are followed, focusing on maintaining backend quality standards.
• Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Fraud Analysts to integrate their algorithms and models into the backend systems, ensuring seamless data flow and frontend integration.

Continuous Improvement: Monitor the performance of backend systems and APIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

About you

Soft skills

Tech skills

• Solid experience in software engineering while building backends, APIs, data solutions, and distributed systems.
• Experience with microservice, serverless, or event-driven architectures.
• Programming Languages: any modern programming language (Python, JS/TS, Java, Kotlin, C#, Go, etc.). Ideally Python or Typescript.
• Nice to haves: experience in DevOps, Data engineering, or Data Science fields.

Tech Stack
We do not limit ourselves to a particular set of technologies and this is what we use right now:

• AWS (Lambda, API GW, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, S3, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, Aurora, etc).
• Python, TypeScript.
• OpenAPI, AsyncAPI.

• Github, CircleCI, Datadog, Terraform, Docker.
