Job Description

Develop and implement product and sales strategies while continuously optimizing the battery product portfolio based on customer needs, market trends, and financial performance

Define R&D priorities and assess regulatory impacts to ensure future-proof offerings

Analyze business performance, contribute to product and group strategy development, and represent AVL in strategic industry discussions, conferences, and publications

Drive battery system industrialization and series-production readiness across customer and product development programs

Lead battery integration concepts and BEV powertrain engineering activities, ensuring technical competitiveness and scalability

Product Management

Lead battery integration concepts and BEV powertrain engineering activities, ensuring technical competitiveness and scalability

Business Development

Position the product portfolio globally by analyzing market demands, identifying customer segments, developing go-to-market strategies, and driving market penetration

Lead and support global sales teams, including training and sales material development

Coordinate key sales activities such as pricing, quotations, and opportunity management

Support customer events, congresses, and marketing initiatives in close collaboration with internal teams

Technical Product Responsibility & Product Leadership

Hold the global Technical Product Responsibility (TPR) for battery products, defining development strategies, standards, and technical direction

Lead technical concepts, development methodologies, and systems engineering approaches across the battery portfolio

Drive technical offer preparation, RFQs, development approaches, cost estimation, and risk assessment for strategic customer opportunities

Ensure successful project execution, product maturity, quality, competitiveness, continuous improvement, and business performance across the global battery product portfolio

Profile Description

Completed Education (Master’s preferred) in Engineering, Business (University or University of Applied Sciences, University of Technology or comparable)

Several years of experience in product management, business development, or technical sales within the battery or similar industry

Strong business and financial acumen combined with strategic and analytical thinking

Proven ability to manage complex projects and work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a global environment

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Strong intercultural competence and collaborative mindset

Willingness to travel nationally and internationally

Business fluent in English, German and additional languages a plus

Annual Remuneration:

Due to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act we are obligated to state the annual gross remuneration (full-time) for this position as a basis for negotiation: €140,000.00. The Employee will be classified according to the Collective Agreement for Employees of Industry (Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Automotive Industry). We will, in any case, offer market-conforming payment taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
