Legal Consultant - TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) and AI

Axiom is seeking a forward-thinking, highly technicalTMT & AI Legal Consultant to join our growing legal team to work with one of our Fortune 500 clients. In this role, you will be the primary legal architect guiding our digital transformation, product development, and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies.

You will blend traditional TMT expertise (commercial tech contracts, data privacy, and telecom regulations) with cutting-edge AI governance (algorithmic risk management, IP ownership of synthetic media, and regulatory compliance). The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about technology, comfortable navigating legal gray areas, and capable of translating complex regulatory frameworks into pragmatic commercial solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, negotiate, and structure complex technology agreements, including AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS), SaaS, Cloud Outsourcing, Master Services Agreements (MSAs), and data licensing deals.
• Design and implement internal AI governance policies, establishing guidelines for ethical AI usage, algorithmic bias prevention, and deepfake/synthetic media mitigation.
• Formulate commercial terms that clearly define risk allocation, service level agreements (SLAs), data security commitments, and liability caps for algorithmic failures.
• Provide rapid risk assessments on product features, user interfaces, content moderation, and consumer protection.

Qualifications:

• At least 5+ yrs of experience in TMT law, intellectual property, or data privacy.
• Experience handling AI governance, data scraping, or machine learning commercial agreements would be an advantage
• Coordinate with compliance and technical teams to ensure automated decision-making systems meet sector-specific regulatory standards for explainability and non-discrimination.
