This role will provide onsite/ on-call assistance to end-users within the organization’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery. /p /brh3Key Responsibilities: /h3 /brul /brliHardware Cabling Support /brul /brliPerform rack and stack of servers, switches, routers, and other IT hardware. /li /brliPower cycle equipment, check LED indicators, and perform basic diagnostics on servers and network devices. /li /brliUnbox and prepare hardware during installation; remove and un-rack decommissioned equipment. /li /brliReplace or add hot-swappable components (e.g., RAID drives, memory, blades). /li /brliSupport firmware/driver upgrades and remote management configuration per instructions. /li /br /ul /br /li /brliNetwork Connectivity Tasks /brul /brliAssist in setup, patching, and basic troubleshooting of network devices and cabling. /li /brliCheck and re-patch physical network connectivity as guided by the remote support team. /li /brliSupport fiber patch cord replacements, patch panel troubleshooting, and wireless access point installation/testing. /li /br /ul /br /li /brliRemote Team Collaboration /brul /brliAct as on-site hands for remote teams—executing commands, reporting equipment status, and performing visual/audio verifications. /li /brliRelay console messages or error states to remote teams. /li /brliExecute commands on behalf of the remote team when required. /li /br /ul /br /li /brliMedia Backup Handling /brul /brliManage backup tape operations: load/unload tapes, inventory tracking, and coordination with offsite storage vendors. /li /brliAssist in resolution of media-related issues (e.g., stuck tapes or ATL faults). /li /br /ul /br /li /brliVendor Facilities Coordination /brul /brliLiaise with third‑party vendors for replacements or installations as instructed. /li /brliCoordinate access and activities with facilities and security teams for maintenance, rack movements, or site surveys. /li /brliParticipate in pre‑installation/site surveys including power, cabling, and mounting coordination. /li /br /ul /br /li /brliDocumentation Reporting /brul /brliMaintain asset inventory and cable tagging. /li /brliVerify cable dressing as per client standards after any changes. /li /brliReport abnormalities, status updates, and physical inspections to the remote support team. /li /brliMaintain up‑to‑date diagrams and maps for cooling, power, network flow, and physical layouts. /li /br /ul /br /li /br /ul /brh3Qualifications Required: /h3 /brul /brliDiploma or degree in IT, Electronics, or related field. /li /brli2+ years in data centre or field support roles. /li /brliBasic knowledge of networking, server hardware, and storage systems. /li /brliFamiliarity with cabling (Ethernet/fiber), patch panels, and remote management tools. /li /brliComfortable working in a physically demanding environment. /li /brliStrong communication and coordination skills. /li /brliWillingness to work flexible shifts or be on‑call as needed. /li /br /ul /brh3Working Conditions: /h3 /brpOn‑site support required.br/Occasional lifting of equipment (up to 25 lbs).br/Flexible schedule or after‑hours support may be needed during maintenance windows or emergencies. /p /brh3What next? /h3 /brh3Job Features /h3 /brh3Job Category /h3 /brh3Apply For This Job /h3 /brpYears of Experience * /p /brpCandidate Name * /p /brpPhone * /p /brpEmail * /p /brpContact Number * /p /brpAxiom Technologies selection process includes Background Verification Checks.
