The role assists in handling reinsurance claims, supports sound claims administration and reserving practices, and helps maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Working closely with our Underwriting, Actuarial, Technical Accounting, Finance, and Legal colleagues at AXIS Re, as well as brokers, and cedants, the Reinsurance Claims Specialist contributes to claim analysis, portfolio monitoring, and operational effectiveness while developing technical expertise in reinsurance claims handling. Through disciplined claim management, effective communication, and attention to detail, the role helps deliver reliable claims outcomes and supports informed business decisions. Ultimately, the Reinsurance Claims Specialist supports AXIS Re's reputation for service excellence, operational discipline, and trusted business partnerships while building a strong foundation for a successful career in reinsurance claims. /ph3What will you do in this role? /h3ulliHandle assigned reinsurance claims under the guidance of senior claims professionals and in accordance with AXIS Re’s claims guidelines, delegated authorities, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements. /liliReview claim notifications, loss advices, bordereaux, and supporting documentation to support timely and accurate claim handling. /liliAssist in evaluating coverage, liability, financial exposure, and reporting requirements for assigned claims. /liliMaintain accurate claim files, records, and supporting documentation in company systems, including SICS, the Reinsurance Desktop (RDT) and related claims platforms. /liliEstablish and monitor claim reserves in accordance with company guidelines and elevate significant issues and developing trends when appropriate. /liliMonitor claim developments and identify material changes, large losses, coverage concerns, loss trend developments, or emerging issues that require management attention. /liliCommunicate professionally with brokers, cedants, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders regarding claim activity, information requests, and claim status updates. /liliSupport claims audits, file reviews, quality assurance initiatives, and regulatory compliance activities. /liliAssist with management reporting, claims analytics, portfolio reviews, and data validation activities. /liliBuild productive working relationships with internal partners, including Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Legal, and Operations. /liliSupport operational improvements that enhance claims handling efficiency, reporting quality, and data integrity. /liliAssist in preparing, updating and maintaining training materials, desk guides, process documentation, and knowledge-sharing resources as needed. /liliDevelop knowledge of reinsurance contract structures, claims processes, and industry practices through training and practical experience. /liliSupport the use of reporting tools, data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies that improve workflows and business processes. /liliRepresent AXIS Re Claims in cross‑functional initiatives and global casualty working groups as requested. /liliCollaborate across global teams and share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned across the AXIS Re Claims organization. /liliIdentify and reinsurance, financial services, legal services, accounting, or another analytical business environment. /liliStrong analytical and critical thinking skills. /liliClear and professional written and verbal communication skills. /liliStrong organizational skills and attention to detail. /liliAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. /liliProficiency with Microsoft Office in insurance, reinsurance, banking, finance, legal services, or risk management. /liliExposure to claims handling, contract review, accounting, regulatory compliance, or data analysis. /liliFamiliarity with Power BI, Excel analytics, or other reporting tools. /liliInterest in insurance and reinsurance markets and industry trends. /liliInterest in automation, artificial intelligence, and process improvement. /liliExperience working in a global or multicultural business environment. /liliMultiple Language skills especially in English, French, German, Italian or Spanish. /liliExperience managing international claims or working across multiple jurisdictions. /liliInterest in or knowledge of market developments and emerging risks in reinsurance /li /ulh3Role Factors: /h3ulliMaintain a regular on‑site presence of a minimum of three days per week, in line with AXIS Re office attendance expectations. /liliTravel internationally on an occasional basis to support claims audits and key stakeholder meetings. /liliBuild, maintain, and strengthen effective working relationships with internal stakeholders (Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Legal) and external
