In this highly visible role, you will work closely with scientists, R&D teams, and business stakeholders across the organization. Your responsibilities will span the full spectrum of intellectual property activities, including invention harvesting, patent drafting, and global patent prosecution. In addition, you will serve as a trusted advisor on IP-related matters, providing practical and business-oriented guidance to internal partners and helping to shape the company's innovation strategy in a dynamic and rapidly growing environment. Responsibilities
Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and scientists to identify potentially patentable inventions
Conduct patentability searches
Provide strategic advice on optimal protection routes
Guide inventors in documenting inventions and preparing high-quality invention disclosures
Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications to secure and maintain IP protection worldwide
Manage and instruct external patent counsel as appropriate
Instruct and supervise FTO searches
Conduct freedom‑to‑operate (FTO) analyses and assess third‑party rights.
Advice on infringement risks and measures for risk mitigation.
Draft contractual positions and advice on IP related matters
Qualifications
Qualification as a European Patent Attorney
Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating IP-related agreements
A strong scientific background in chemistry or a related discipline
Proven experience in patent prosecutionStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
Team player with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment
Excellent communication skills in English and German
