Senior Substation Engineer (m/f/d)Austria - Vienna

Job Description:

BakerHicks, a leading consultancy in the power transmission and distribution sector in the UK, is expanding its power team in the DACH region. We are seeking an ambitious Substation / Primary Layout Engineer to support this growth.

You will be an experienced engineer in the design and planning of transmission-level onshore substations at voltages from 110kV to 400kV. Responsibilities include producing substation primary layouts, specifications, calculations, wiring diagrams, protection requirements, and system modeling.

Requirements include full proficiency in German and a good level of English. The role involves occasional travel to BakerHicks offices in Basel and London, and offers opportunities across Europe and the UK on various projects, including HVAC, HVDC, OHL, and underground cables.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide substation layout designs and act as lead engineer.
• Coordinate with UK design teams to ensure compliance with local standards.
• Deliver design scope on time and within budget.

Your profile:

• Experience in HV power transmission systems, HVDC interconnectors, or HV renewable energy infrastructure in the DACH region.
• Full proficiency in German and good English skills.
• Specialist knowledge in High Voltage Substations.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Basel and London.
