ppThe Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is hiring a Senior Solution Architect within the ITS, IT Development unit. Relocation support is available for the successful candidate and their dependent family members. /ph3Purpose of the job /h3pDefines and maintains the architecture strategy and frameworks for the business unit, ensuring alignment with the organisation policies on security, risk, and compliance. Provides technical and architectural leadership, driving innovation, integration, and governance across systems while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. Evaluates emerging technologies, optimises platform costs, and contributes to enterprise architecture standards, acting as a trusted advisor on strategic technology matters. /ph3Key responsibilities /h3ulliCollaborate with senior stakeholders to shape the technological direction of complex, multi-system initiatives, driving innovation and efficiency. /liliLead the design and implementation of cutting-edge architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and cost optimisation. /liliContribute to enterprise-wide standards and governance processes, influencing strategic decisions and fostering cross-functional alignment. /li /ulh3Principal Accountabilities /h3ulliDefine and maintain architectural strategies, frameworks, and reusable design approaches, ensuring coherence across delivery teams and alignment with enterprise standards. /liliLead workshops with senior stakeholders to resolve competing requirements and align solution priorities, communicating risks and trade-offs effectively. /liliEvaluate and select technologies for major initiatives, ensuring integration strategies align with enterprise roadmaps and interoperability across domains. /liliGovern and contribute to enterprise architecture standards, driving continuous improvement through lessons learned and active participation in architecture forums. /liliOversee data and security architecture, ensuring best practices in data integration, lineage, and secure design patterns. /liliProvide architectural oversight for multi-team delivery programs, resolving technical conflicts and supporting agile and product-based delivery models. /liliOptimize platform costs and promote modern capabilities to reduce total cost of ownership while simplifying the application landscape. /li /ulh3Qualifications, skills and experience /h3ulliBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent practical experience). /liliRelevant architecture or cloud certifications are a plus. /liliGeneral Experience: Over 6 to 10 years of substantial work experience in architecture or a related field, demonstrating advanced competence. /liliManagerial Experience: 1 to 3 years of supervising teams and resources to achieve results within set timeframes. /liliAdvanced expertise in designing architectures, data flow analysis, and system integration to solve complex problems. /liliStrong stakeholder management skills to align expectations and drive collaboration across teams. /liliExpertise in data categorisation, protection, and conversion, ensuring seamless data exchange and communication. /li /ulpPlease note that the BIS's corporate language is English, which is used for all internal and external communication. /ph3Who we are /h3pInternationalism is at the core of our identity and the best representation of this is our workforce.
