Central Compliance Control Framework is part of the 2nd Line of Defense (2LoD) function within the Global Compliance Division of Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd. We are looking for an experienced, team‑oriented control expert with a strong technical affinity, data analytics capabilities, and project management skills. Responsibilities
Design surveillance and monitoring mechanisms for compliance controls, supporting Risk Type/Taxonomy owners in the design of globally applicable controls. Assist local compliance control owners in the operationalisation of 2LoD controls, ensuring controls meet internal standards and regulatory expectations. Drive global harmonisation of compliance controls together with local control owners, taking into account locally specific requirements. Collaborate with Compliance colleagues worldwide to strengthen and align the 2LoD control framework and increase risk transparency towards the 1LoD. Oversee the Global Compliance control inventory. Prepare and review presentations for committees and the dedicated control governance body. Liaise with Compliance Analytics colleagues, driving further development of the strategic global control tool solution. Enhance and extend Compliance control result reporting. Support internal and external audits, preparing comprehensive closure documentation for assigned audit actions. Collaborate closely with Compliance, CRO, Audit and other stakeholders. Qualifications
University degree or equivalent (preferably in economics, law, business administration or a related field). Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management or compliance. Proven expertise in control framework and compliance risk / taxonomy topics. Ability to interpret data output, identify patterns, and collaborate with data analysts or specialists to define monitoring needs, assess output quality, and refine detection logic. Project experience in the financial services industry; knowledge of JIRA or Confluence a plus. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills. Capable of working under pressure in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment. Fluent in English; other languages (e.g., German, French, or Spanish) a plus.
