Procurement Workstream Leader / Manager (VCO)
Lead the procurement workstream for Barnes Molding Solutions, overseeing both direct and indirect procurement.
- Drive fact-based commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms (incl. AP), and long-term partnerships.
- Leverage data and market intelligence (e.g., should-cost models, low-price-point sourcing, and other analytical techniques) to support sourcing and negotiation strategies.
- Optimize low-cost country (LCC) sourcing strategies, balancing cost efficiency, quality, lead times, and geopolitical risk.
- Conduct make-vs-buy assessments, evaluating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ensuring alignment between sourcing strategies and overall business goals.
- Establish and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, embedding analytical rigor into procurement processes.
- Upskill and mentor the procurement organization, ensuring improvements are sustained through enhanced capabilities and best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, supply chain, and finance to integrate procurement strategies into broader business transformation efforts.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of leadership experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in supplier negotiations, cost modeling, and strategic sourcing in complex global supply chains.
- Strong background in low-cost country (LCC) sourcing and risk-balanced procurement strategies.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to use TCO modeling, should-cost analysis, and data-driven procurement techniques.
- Ability to influence, coach, and develop teams, fostering a procurement function that is proactive, data-driven, and aligned with business goals.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a track record of engaging executives, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Industry experience in automotive, industrial manufacturing, or related sectors preferred.
- Fluent English required; German, Italian, or Chinese are a plus.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
