Head of Manufacturing

Seeking a skilled, driven, and hands-on Manufacturing Team Leader with a strong technical background in optics and photonics manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership abilities and play a key role in overseeing manufacturing operations, driving efficiency, and accelerating the time-to-market for our innovative photonics products.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning, management, and execution of the company’s production capabilities.
• Lead hands-on development of assembly and test processes, manufacturing, and product engineering across both offices.
• Contribute to shaping and implementing the company\’s strategic direction.
• Build and lead manufacturing and supply chain teams through recruitment and effective people management.
• Work closely with R&D to drive the development of innovative products and services aligned with the company’s vision.
• Ensure seamless integration of technology solutions to enhance performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain a robust and resilient supply chain, managing relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Review and co-sign legal documents, including NDAs and supplier contracts.
• Assist in securing public funding through grant applications and proposals.

Requirements:

• PhD or Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a strong foundation in optics or photonics.
• Proven expertise in optical and/or photonic microsystem assembly, ideally at scale, with the ability to mentor and lead a team in a hands-on capacity.
• Strong adaptability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, contributing to strategic direction alongside the team.
• Experience in new product introduction (NPI) and product engineering, focusing on quality and yield optimization.
• Demonstrated success in bringing products to market.
