Head of Supply Chain in Wallis

Reporting to: Site Director / General Manager

A growing sterile biologics CDMO in Switzerland is seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain to lead and develop the site's end-to-end supply chain organisation.

This is a senior leadership position within the site management team, responsible for ensuring robust supply, production planning and customer delivery across a highly regulated sterile biologics manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical, biologics, sterile manufacturing or CDMO supply chains , with the leadership capability to operate across a complex, customer-driven manufacturing site.

The Role

You will have overall responsibility for:

• Supply Chain strategy and site-wide execution
• Production and supply planning
• Materials management and procurement coordination
• Warehouse and logistics operations
• Inventory and working capital management
• Demand planning and forecasting
• S&OP / IBP
• Customer supply and OTIF performance
• Supplier performance and supply risk management
• Supply chain organisation and team development

Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, MSAT, Engineering, Finance, Procurement and Commercial , you will ensure that the site can meet customer commitments while balancing capacity, inventory, cost and GMP requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the site's Supply Chain strategy
• Lead, coach and develop the Supply Chain organisation
• Own production planning and capacity planning processes
• Establish and continuously improve S&OP
• Ensure availability of critical raw materials, components and packaging
• Optimise inventory, working capital and service levels
• Drive improvements in OTIF and schedule adherence
• Manage supply shortages, constraints and business continuity risks
• Develop strong relationships with strategic suppliers
• Partner with customers on forecasts, demand planning and supply commitments
• Support new product introductions, technology transfers and site expansion programmes
• Drive digitalisation and continuous improvement across Supply Chain
• Establish clear KPIs and provide regular performance reporting to the Site Leadership Team
• Ensure compliance with applicable GMP, GDP and Swiss/EU pharmaceutical requirements

Candidate Profile

• Significant experience in Supply Chain leadership within pharma, biotech, biologics, sterile manufacturing or CDMO
• Proven experience leading a Supply Chain function at site level
• Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing and pharmaceutical supply chains
• Experience across planning, materials management, logistics and inventory
• Strong knowledge of S&OP, MRP/ERP and demand planning
• Track record of improving service levels, inventory and operational performance
• Experience within a CDMO or customer-facing manufacturing environment highly advantageous
• Strong commercial and financial understanding, including working capital
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proven people leadership experience
• Fluent English required; German or French would be advantageous
