Overview

Senior Financial Controller within Bauer Media Group’s Group FP&A team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial performance and strategic decision-making across the organization, supporting the Vice President of FP&A in driving planning, analysis, and transformation initiatives at Group level.

You’ll be joining our Group FP&A team, a central function within Bauer Media Group’s Finance organisation. We’re a collaborative, high-impact team of around 15 professionals, working across geographies and business units to deliver financial clarity and strategic insight. You’ll be part of a dynamic environment that values curiosity, process excellence, and stakeholder engagement.

As our new Senior Financial Controller, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Bauer’s financial performance and governance. You’ll lead core planning, forecasting, and reporting processes, and act as a key interface between Group Finance and our diverse business portfolio. This is a highly visible role, partnering closely with senior stakeholders including the Group CFO and Deputy CFO. You’ll also contribute to our ongoing finance transformation, helping to optimise systems and processes that support better decision-making across the Group.

Responsibilities

• Leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles
• Consolidating financial performance across BMG’s businesses
• Producing board-level reporting and analysis
• Driving improvements in financial management information, especially around income statement and cashflow
• Supporting capital allocation through cashflow forecasting
• Contributing to transformation initiatives, including system and process optimisation
• Supporting ad hoc Group Finance projects
• Strong FP&A experience, ideally in a group or multinational environment
• Proven ability to manage planning and reporting processes end-to-end
• Experience producing board-level financials
• Logical thinker with a strong process orientation
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and across geographies
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, or Power BI (nice to have)
• Background in statutory accounting or audit (nice to have)
• Fluent in German and English required

The role is based in Hamburg, hybrid working pattern. Relocation support may be considered.
