ph3Global Product Engineer Division Automotive Industrial /h3 pTo ensure the long-term retention and development of our technical expertise, we are seeking a Product Engineer specialising in contact elements and technical springs. In this key role, you will take responsibility for selected spring types, respond to customer enquiries, and support technical projects in close collaboration with our Senior Engineers. The focus is on developing into a trusted technical advisor who combines deep engineering expertise with strong customer engagement, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. /p pYou will act as a technical point of contact for internal departments and customers, with the opportunity to independently manage customer projects in the medium term. /p h3Tasks /h3 ul liGain expertise in existing spring design and calculation models (Excel/VBA), including knowledge transfer from two highly experienced Senior Engineers /li liHandle customer enquiries relating to specific spring types in collaboration with Project Management and Sales /li liAnalyse and calculate spring designs, taking into account mechanical, electric, thermal and dynamic loading conditions /li liSupport the development and enhancement of calculation tools (e.g. Python-based applications) /li liCarry out technical evaluations and contribute to the documentation and standardisation of design processes /li liDevelop in-depth application and process knowledge to become a trusted technical adviser for customers /li liParticipate in customer meetings and work closely with customers' design and development engineers /li liSupport the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 h3Technical Qualifications /h3 ul liDegree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable discipline /li liStrong knowledge of mechanics, strength of materials and materials science (particularly steel and heat treatment) /li liAdvanced Excel skills (including complex formulas and VBA); some knowledge of Python would be advantageous /li liExperience with CAD software (e.g. Creo, SolidWorks), FEA (ANSYS, including non-linear analysis), metrology and statistical analysis /li liUnderstanding of product development processes within the automotive industry (APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, etc.) /li /ul h3Language Skills /h3 ul liExcellent written and spoken English is required and will be the primary working language within the Global Product Engineering team. /li liGerman is advantageous and beneficial for collaboration with Production and local stakeholders. /li /ul h3Personal Attributes /h3 ul liStrong learning agility and curiosity, with a desire to develop deep expertise over time /li liCustomer-oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills /li liComfortable receiving feedback, discussing different viewpoints, and working collaboratively towards the best solution /li liPragmatic and flexible approach to problem-solving, balancing technical perfection with business realities /li liAbility to thrive in a team environment built on mutual respect, knowledge sharing, and open communication /li liSelf-driven and accountable, while remaining open to guidance and coaching /li liWillingness to take ownership of both challenging technical projects and routine engineering tasks /li liProfessional and respectful demeanour when interacting with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across different cultures and functions /li /ul h3What Success Looks Like /h3 pIn this role, success is not only measured by technical competence.
