About The Department

Department 5 \“Information and Communication Technology\“ operates complex specialist procedures and standard products as well as providing a range of technical services for the infrastructure of radio sites, the network and our own data center operations. As a systems technology officer, you will work in this department with around 100 colleagues, who are currently spread across four departments. You will report to a Head of Department and be supervised by a Head of Division.

The Area Of Responsibility Includes

  • Processing tasks for the organization, coordination and implementation of technical processes in the operation and further development of IT infrastructures
  • Planning and operating complex client/server architectures based on Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Planning, setup and operation of complex virtualization/database systems with backup integration

Your Qualification

  • Degree from a university or university of applied sciences in the field of computer science or a related subject area

or

  • Completed training as a state-certified technician with at least 3 years of professional experience as a technician in the field of (business) informatics, information technology, communication technology or a comparable field

or

  • Completed vocational training in the field of (business) informatics, information technology, communication technology or a comparable field with at least 6 years of relevant professional experience

If you have shorter periods of professional experience, we will check individually whether you can be considered in the selection process. You will then be placed in a lower pay group.

Desirable Knowledge And Experience

  • Data center infrastructure and operations
  • Operating systems for servers and clients (especially Windows, Linux)
  • System backup and recovery
  • Operation and further development of virtualization solutions (VMware ESXi/ vSphere and/or Linux KVM)
  • Database management systems (in particular Oracle and MS SQL)
  • Setup and operation of Windows/Linux systems, especially in configurations with high availability requirements

Remuneration is based on the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the Federal States (TV-L). Depending on your qualifications and the evidence provided, you will be graded up to pay group 11 TV-L if you meet the personal and collective agreement requirements.
