Your Tasks

As an Environmental Safety Assessor – Cosmetic Ingredients, your main responsibilities include:

  • Exposure Assessment: Conduct detailed assessments of the exposure of the environment to cosmetic raw materials.
  • Effect Assessment: Analyse the potential environmental impacts of cosmetic ingredients.
  • Fate Assessment: Investigate the fate and behaviour of cosmetic raw materials in the environment.
  • Model Development and Application: Adapt existing models to meet the specific requirements of the cosmetics industry or develop new models to assess the safety and environmental compatibility of our products and their ingredients.
  • Collaboration with Universities, Suppliers, and Associations: Foster close collaboration with universities, suppliers, and associations to gather and assess information on ingredients. This includes jointly evaluating, developing, and establishing new methods to ensure that we remain at the forefront of the industry.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members specializing in Hazard Assessment, Risk Assessment, and Risk Management to ensure comprehensive safety evaluations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and documentation on assessments conducted and their outcomes.

Your Profile

  • Education: Bachelor\’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Toxicology, or a related field. A master\’s degree or Ph.D. is advantageous.
  • Professional Experience: Several years of professional experience in the environmental assessment of chemicals, preferably in the cosmetics or related industry, e.g., household and cleansing products.
  • Modelling Competence: Experience in using exposure, effect, and fate models and the ability to adapt and develop such models.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulations and laws in the cosmetics and environmental protection fields.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to critically analyse data and identify risks and opportunities related to cosmetic raw materials.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly and work effectively within a team.
  • Team Player: Capability to work within an interdisciplinary, international team and successfully achieve common goals.
