We are supporting an international cleantech scale-up in Zürich (Schlieren) in the recruitment of a hands-on Head of Finance.

The company is preparing for its next phase of growth. Working closely with the founder, the Head of Finance will provide financial visibility, ensure the integrity of the company’s financial information and support key business decisions.

The role

The Head of Finance will be responsible for:

• Leading budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow and liquidity planning
• Developing financial scenarios and providing forward-looking insights
• Analysing performance and supporting decisions on pricing, hiring, investments, costs and profitability
• Overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
• Ensuring accurate group reporting, consolidation and financial controls
• Coordinating statutory accounts, tax matters and audits with external advisers
• Preparing financial information for management, the Board and investors
• Developing the internal finance team and ensuring effective collaboration with external partners

Your profile

You bring:

• Strong FP&A skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management and financial modelling
• Hands-on experience in accounting, closing and controlling
• Experience gained in an SME, scale-up or similarly entrepreneurial environment
• A good understanding of Swiss accounting and statutory requirements
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power Pivot is an advantage
• Fluency in English and good German skills
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or an equivalent qualification
• A Swiss Expert in Accounting and Controlling qualification, Swiss CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent would be an advantage.

You are curious, pragmatic, analytical and business-oriented. You enjoy working directly with financial data while also acting as a trusted sparring partner to the founder. You are comfortable taking ownership, operating with limited resources in an evolving organisation.
