Business Analyst Switzerland — Full Country P&L | International Group (100% - M/F)
We are recruiting a Controller (Business Analyst) Switzerland for a leading international group operating a large, decentralized retail/consumer network across the country — part of a publicly listed, fast-moving, and genuinely challenging organization. Despite its international scale, this role stays close to the field and to the people who run the business day to day .
Why this role is different This is not a back-office controlling seat. The Controller Switzerland owns the full P&L of the country's operations — a rare opportunity to truly understand and influence the business end-to-end, not just report on it.
Two things define success in this role:
Comfort with volume and complexity. This is a data-rich environment, with a large number of decentralized points of sale generating high volumes of transactions. You will need to be genuinely at ease diving into large datasets, reconciling and harmonizing information from multiple sources, and extracting the essential signal from the noise— confidently using Excel, SAP, and other tools without feeling overwhelmed.
A natural ease with people, at every level. You will be a sparring partner to a wide range of stakeholders — from local site managers on the ground to CFO-level profiles at Group level. This calls for someone outgoing, comfortable initiating contact, and genuinely energized by fieldwork and direct exchange — not someone who waits to be approached.
Key Responsibilities Performance Analysis & Reporting
Own the monthly and year-end close process from a controlling standpoint, delivering results on time
Guarantee that what lands on management's desk is accurate and complete
Break down actual performance against budget and forecast, flagging what is driving the gaps and why
Build and refine the KPIs and dashboards that management actually relies on
Business Partnering
Turn raw numbers into reporting that local management and Group Controlling can act on
Bring the financial angle into the room whenever a decision is being made
Make cost structures, margins, and overall performance visible and easy to challenge
Be the person local management turns to when they need a second opinion onoperational or strategic calls
Work hand in hand with local management as well as Group Controlling, Accounting,Tax, and Treasury
Budgeting & Forecasting
Help steer the budgeting and forecasting cycle for your area of the business
Keep improving how forecasts are built — methodology, tools, and process
Investment & Business Case
SupportTeam up with Business Development to build the financial case behind new projects and investment opportunities
Bring the numbers that help leadership decide where to invest Tools & Governance
Keep raising the bar on controlling processes and reporting standards
Push for more automation in planning and reporting
Make sure Group Controlling standards are properly applied on the ground
Candidate Profile
German mother tongue
— the business partnering dimension of this role is constant, and requires full ease and credibility in German at every level of the organization
Comfortable working in the Romandie and able to understand French
Fluent in English
3–5 years of experience in an international corporate environment
Strong command of SAP and Excel; Power BI is a plus
Strong analytical skills combined with a strategic mindset
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Outgoing, proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable working independent
Genuine enjoyment of fieldwork and direct contact with operational teams, not just headquarters
