Senior Medical Advisor, Oncology — Field & Strategy

The Senior Medical Advisor, Early Pipeline & Scientific Engagement is a senior expert individual contributor who combines deep scientific and clinical expertise with strong external engagement to shape and execute country Medical Affairs strategy within the assigned therapeutic area. The role is performed in a hybrid setting, encompassing both field-based interactions and office-based responsibilities.

The person leads the country-level scientific engagement strategy for priority investigators and external experts within the assigned tumour indications, ensuring high-quality scientific exchange and serving as a trusted medical partner for complex scientific discussions. In close collaboration with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations, the role provides Medical Affairs support for BeOne-sponsored clinical studies by strengthening investigator relationships, supporting site identification and feasibility activities, facilitating scientific interactions, and contributing medical insights that support successful study delivery.

He/she will also contribute to strategic local evidence planning and providing scientific input into study design, protocol optimization, and evidence-generation priorities in collaboration with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Market Access, and regional/global Medical Affairs. The role will also support the evaluation of Investigator-Initiated Trial concepts and facilitates the communication of local scientific insights to help inform pipeline strategy and future evidence-generation activities.

He/she works closely with local, regional, and global Medical Affairs colleagues and cross-functional partners to ensure accurate scientific exchange and effective internal communication of medical insights, reinforcing BeOne’s position as a trusted scientific partner.

The role reports to the Therapeutic Area Lead.

Essential Functions Of The Job

COLLABORATION WITH KEY EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS (60%)

• Identify, map and build strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders at country level, including KOLs, research centers of excellence, office based HCPs with clinical study site affiliation, scientific societies and eventually with advocacy organizations.
• In collaboration with the Therapeutic Area Lead, lead the development, implementation and monitoring of Medical Engagement and advocacy plans for the target stakeholders.
• In collaboration with Clinical Operations & Development, support study feasibilities with medical landscape insights, the identification and verification of investigators and sites for company-sponsored clinical trials and foster strong relationships with clinical study sites and scientific societies as basis for successful study implementation.
• Support and accompany the conduction of clinical trials through start-up, recruitment phase and site close-out in collaboration with Clinical Operations.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based scientific information on BeOne’s products and pipeline and facilitate responses to unsolicited medical information requests, in close collaboration with BeOne Medical Information Services personnel.
• Lead the planning and organization and chair clinically relevant local medical meetings (e.g., advisory boards, consultancy and investigator meetings).
• Support, attend and follow up on local, national, and international scientific congresses and other relevant events, facilitating enterprise activities and contributing to omnichannel medical initiatives, thereby taking a shared responsibility for achieving our goals as BeOne.

MEDICAL INSIGHT GENERATION AND ANALYSIS (15%)

• Represent German Medical Affairs in regional and global pipeline, clinical development, and cross-functional governance meetings, contributing local scientific and strategic perspectives.
• Identify unmet medical needs and emerging trends in the assigned therapeutic area.
• Systematically capture, document and assess stakeholder insights on disease areas, clinical practice patterns, and stakeholder expectations.
• Synthesize and analyse field-based insights to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Identify and support opportunities for innovation and field excellence initiatives to differentiate BeOne in the therapeutic area and achieve medical objectives.

EVIDENCE PLANNING AND DATA GENERATION (15%)

• Lead the identification of evidence gaps and support the development of local data generation initiatives, aligned with medical strategy, company objectives, and stakeholder needs.
• Provide expert medical input into clinical study design to ensure feasibility, quality and successful execution of local clinical trials.
• Oversee and facilitate the end-to-end management of Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) proposals, ensuring appropriate clinical trial conduct, in close partnership RWE teams.
• Drive to the interpretation, analysis and scientific communication of data generated from medical studies.

INTERNAL COLLABORATION AND CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COMMUNICATION (10%)

• Establish strong relationships with the local Medical Affairs Department and collaborate with BeOne's European and Global Medical Affairs teams. Further, build equally strong relationship with the Clinical Operations Department and collaborate with Development, as need be.
• Communicate relevant medical insights and emerging clinical and scientific trends to internal stakeholders.
• Provide scientific and medical expertise to internal cross-functional teams (e.g. Market Access, Clinical Operations, Marketing and Sales), as needed.
• Act as a key local medical partner by supporting scientific content review, medical information activities, and the education and training of internal teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Medical Affairs (6+ years minimum) preferably with field-based responsibilities, demonstrating the ability to apply medical and scientific expertise in practice.
• Experience in the conduct of company-sponsored clinical trials, including activities such as site feasibility, study start-up, investigator engagement, recruitment support, or protocol development
• Good understanding of the relevant therapeutic area landscape and local market dynamics.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of treatment guidelines, compliance standards, local/regional regulatory requirements and healthcare system.
• Ability to identify and address unmet medical, educational and research needs within the medical community.
• Advanced analytical capabilities to collect, analyze and interpret key scientific data and insights, supporting data-driven decision-making and identification of new opportunities.
• Solid understanding of the design and execution of research studies and strategic implications.
• Highly collaborative, team-oriented mindset with ability to work cross-functionally.
• Strong project management skills.
• Exhibits a high degree of emotional intelligence and appreciation of diversity and multiculturalism.

Computer Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, experienced with electronic CRM systems.

Other Qualifications

Fluency in both verbal and written English and local language German are necessary; any other major European language is of advantage.

Travel

Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70% of time), participation in congresses and medical meetings; a valid driving license is required.

Salary Range Germany: 109,100.00 EUR - 136,400.00 EUR
