As an AI Board Member , you will provide strategic oversight and guidance on the company’s AI initiatives, ensuring that artificial intelligence and machine learning are effectively leveraged to drive innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage. Your role will focus on AI governance, risk management, ethical AI deployment, and ensuring that AI strategies align with overall business objectives.
You will work closely with the executive leadership team and fellow board members to navigate the evolving landscape of AI, advising on key investments, regulatory challenges, and AI-driven business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic AI Oversight & Governance
- Provide high-level guidance on AI adoption and strategy , ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term goals.
- Evaluate and challenge AI-driven business decisions to maximize value while mitigating risks.
- Advocate for responsible and ethical AI practices , ensuring compliance with global regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, AI Act).
- Shape AI policies related to data privacy, security, fairness, and transparency .
- Advise on emerging AI trends, opportunities, and threats within the industry.
- Identify areas where AI and automation can enhance operational efficiency and unlock new revenue streams .
- Provide insights on AI-powered business models , partnerships, and M&A opportunities.
- Guide the company’s investment in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, and computer vision .
- Ensure AI implementations adhere to regulatory, ethical, and legal standards .
- Develop AI governance frameworks that balance innovation with risk mitigation .
- Oversee AI cybersecurity risks, ensuring the protection of sensitive company and customer data.
Technology & Talent Advisory
- Advise on hiring AI executives , including Chief AI Officers (CAIOs), AI Scientists, and ML Engineers .
- Support AI upskilling initiatives across leadership and operational teams.
- Evaluate partnerships with AI vendors, research institutions, and open-source communities .
Key Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or a technology leadership role.
- Extensive board-level or advisory experience in AI-driven companies or organizations undergoing digital transformation.
- Proven track record in guiding AI strategy, risk management, and ethical AI deployment .
- Strong knowledge of AI regulation, compliance, and AI governance best practices .
- Deep understanding of AI scalability, cloud infrastructure, data analytics, and automation .
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industries such as finance, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, or SaaS .
- PhD or advanced degree in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field .
