Beyond Talent has been appointed to identify a talented Head of Accounting DACH for an international luxury group based in Munich, Germany .
This is a strategic leadership role for a highly experienced accounting professional with strong technical expertise, excellent knowledge of the German market, and proven experience managing complex finance operations across the DACH region .
The successful candidate will lead the accounting function, ensure financial accuracy and compliance, and act as a key business partner to local and regional stakeholders. Strong SAP expertise and fluent German are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting function for the DACH market, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all entities.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in line with local statutory requirements and group standards.
- Ensure full compliance with German GAAP, tax regulations, internal controls, audit requirements, and group accounting policies.
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inter-company transactions, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
- Act as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and internal finance stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and best practices within accounting operations, with a strong focus on SAP optimisation.
- Partner closely with Controlling, Retail, Operations, HR, Legal, and regional finance teams to support business decisions and financial governance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the local accounting team, promoting accuracy, accountability, and a high-performance culture.
- Support reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis by providing reliable accounting data and insights.
- Contribute to strategic finance projects across the DACH market, including systems, controls, reporting, and organisational improvements.
Profile
- Proven experience in a senior accounting leadership role, ideally within luxury, retail, fashion, consumer goods, or an international group environment.
- Strong knowledge of German accounting standards, statutory reporting, tax requirements, audits, and compliance processes.
- Previous experience managing accounting operations across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland is highly desirable.
- Advanced SAP knowledge is essential.
- Fluent German is mandatory; fluent English is also required.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing accounting teams.

- Confident working with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, international, and matrix environment.
- Strategic, hands-on, precise, and solution-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
