About the Role
We are looking for a Senior IBM Maximo Technical Developer to lead the technical build of our Maximo solutions, covering customisations, automation scripting, Java extensions, integrations, reports, and migration utilities. You will own technical quality, development standards, and the maintainability of everything delivered into the client landscape.
Working alongside functional consultants and architects, you will convert approved designs into robust, supportable code while providing technical leadership and mentoring to the wider development team. You will be expected to prefer configuration and scripting over heavy Java customisation wherever possible, and to bring a strong opinion on what makes a build upgrade-safe and maintainable in the long run.
What You'll Do
- Deliver high-quality Maximo technical components against approved technical designs
- Convert functional specifications into technical design documents, providing effort estimates and technical risk assessment
- Build customisations using Application Designer, Database Configuration, domains, conditional expressions, and workflow
- Develop automation scripts (Jython / JavaScript), Java extensions, custom MBOs, and cron tasks where scripting is not viable
- Build integrations using the Maximo Integration Framework, including REST/SOAP interfaces and error handling routines
- Build BIRT reports, KPIs, Start Center content, and data extracts
- Perform unit testing, peer code review, and defect fixing across SIT and UAT; tune SQL, indexes, and integration throughput
- Mentor junior developers, enforce coding standards, and support go-live, hypercare, and L3 escalations
What You Bring
- 8-14 years IT experience, including 5+ years hands‑on Maximo technical development
- Multiple end‑to‑end Maximo implementations, upgrades, or migrations
- Strong Java, J2EE, Jython, JavaScript, SQL, XML, and JSON skills
- Hands‑on experience with Application Designer, Database Configuration, MBOs, workflow, escalations, and cron tasks
- Maximo Integration Framework and REST/SOAP API experience, including event‑driven and middleware integration
- BIRT reporting experience and database performance tuning (Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2)
- OpenShift, containers, and cloud deployment awareness for MAS is a plus
Nice to Have
IBM Maximo / MAS certification; a cloud or database certification (preferred).
