About the Role:

The role will be responsible for driving financial planning and analysis efforts for Europe supporting business growth. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the Cluster Commercial & Management Team as well as Europe Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

This role will be the strategic business partner to the Europe Commercial organization, providing insights, reporting and analytics to support key decisions and developing annual budgets, forecasts and long-term business plans. This role will require significant direct interaction with Commercial leadership team, Corporate Finance and Global Finance/ Centre of Excellence teams. Responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with the business to drive ROI analysis, build and manage execution of the entire planning cycle, including budget, strategic plan, and monthly/quarterly forecasting.
  • Closely manage the P&L with commercial partners for the market, including revenue and operating expense forecasting and managing risks and opportunities.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly analysis and metrics to finance and executive leadership to assess and report on financial performance versus operating plan, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Lead monthly revenue forecasting process, including gross-to-net forecast and reconciliation, and providing performance statistics to leadership team
  • Support and understand tender framework and dynamics and how this impacts the business and gross margins,.
  • Understanding and ability to drive and support decisions on pricing negotiations, setting robust guidance to the country manger on how to maximize revenues, gross margins and EBITDA.
  • Provide guidance and analysis to support pricing and discounting decisions. This includes representing finance in cross functional reviews to recommend list prices for new products, setting the contracting and discounting strategy, and reviewing individual contract proposals.
  • Support the Regional Financial Controller, Corporate Controller and Centre of Excellence in all controllership activities, ensuring a strong control environment for the business.
  • Oversight of all financial aspects of the OTC processes including liaison with the Supply Chain processes, service providers, banking relationships and Customer Service function.
  • Partner with Technical Accounting and the Commercial team to analyze and influence complex contract proposals that may have revenue recognition implications.
  • Support the Regional Financial Controller, Corporate Controller and Centre of Excellence in all controllership activities, ensuring a strong control environment for the business.

Experience Required:

  • The preferred candidate will possess a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in Finance, including financial planning and analysis or Finance Controllership roles in Germany.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent) with large company / relevant European regional or country experience
  • In-depth Pharmaceutical/Biosimilars industry experience in Finance, including commercial operations, Order-To-Cash,and Gross-To-Net processes, budgeting, financial forecasting, operating expense oversight, receivables and inventory oversight, tendering processes, retail markets and pricing & negotiations, supply chain operations.
  • Understanding of the market environment in Germany (other countries useful but not critical) is a must; Partnering with Commercial and Enabling functions would be valued
  • Proficiency in aspects of accounting and finance and knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS is required, especially Gross-To-Net elements
  • In depth knowledge of Business Intelligence, Financial Planning and ERP systems is required with proficiency in Microsoft tools (intermediate/advanced excel and powerpoint skills).
