Purpose of the Role
Ensuring the smooth running of the Warehouse.
Role and Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping chemical products.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to ensure compliance with safety standards and proper storage practices.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff on safe handling procedures for chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper labelling and documentation of chemical products.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and quality control, to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of orders.
- Troubleshoot any issues related to warehouse operations, including equipment malfunctions or inventory discrepancies.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline warehouse processes and optimize efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior warehouse role, preferably in a chemical or industrial environment.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities.
- German B2 level and above.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Experience with using IT programs, such as Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic Outlook and SAP skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with stock control systems.
- Previous experience working in a chemical warehouse environment would be preferred.
- A forklift truck license would be an advantage but not essential.
