VP/SVP Discovery and Early Development
Remote based in Europe
Overview: Lead scientific and strategic direction for preclinical and translational research, driving first-in-class immune-inflammatory programs from discovery through non-clinical development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape the scientific vision and portfolio strategy for discovery and early development.
- Oversee preclinical programs, ensuring alignment with clinical translational needs.
- Lead and manage Project Directors, fostering talent development and team success.
- Forge and manage collaborations with external CROs and academic institutions.
- Oversee non-clinical safety, toxicology, and the timely delivery of preclinical data for IND submissions.
- Collaborate with CMC consultants to ensure smooth project progression.
- Work closely with Clinical and Regulatory teams to align preclinical efforts.
- Drive due diligence on new assets, expanding and enhancing the portfolio.
- Lead IP strategy development and execution.
- Present scientific strategies and progress to the board and external stakeholders.
- Represent the company at high-profile scientific meetings and investor events.
- Provide expert input for investor presentations and Q&A sessions.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or related field (or equivalent industrial experience).
- 15+ years in relevant industrial experience.
- Proven ability to lead discovery project teams and develop talent.
- Skilled in managing external teams and scientific collaborations.
- Strong evaluator of new drug discovery opportunities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
