Director - Finance & Regulatory Reporting Technology Lead (gn)

For our client, a leading global universal bank with its European headquarters in Frankfurt, we are currently looking for a Director - Finance & Regulatory Reporting Technology Lead (gn) to strengthen the Team.

Purpose of job

The role is responsible for the reliable delivery and continuous evolution of the technology platforms that underpin the bank’s Finance Accounting and Regulatory Reporting functions. Working at the intersection of finance, regulation and technology, the position combines ownership of day-to-day platform support with active leadership of change and improvement initiatives, and helps to strengthen the Finance IT landscape in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

Tasks

• Take ownership of implementing and running the IT systems that support the bank’s financial accounting and regulatory reporting
• Serve as the main IT contact for the finance teams, turning business and regulatory needs into practical technical solutions
• Continuously improve and further develop the finance and reporting systems so they keep pace with the bank’s growth and supervisory requirements
• Make sure the finance systems run reliably, with minimal downtime, and in line with legal requirements and internal policies
• Coordinate the work of internal IT teams and external vendors, from delivery through to fixing issues
• Keep track of changes, enhancements and incidents affecting the finance systems, setting sensible priorities and keeping stakeholders informed
• Support audits and supervisory reviews by providing accurate information, documentation and technical input
• Help shape the long-term technology roadmap for the finance and reporting systems

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience leading Finance IT teams in banks, particularly with general ledger systems (Oracle Fusion is an advantage)
• Solid knowledge of finance, controlling and regulatory reporting in commercial and investment banking across the EMEA region
• Experience with finance technology, data, analytics, reporting architecture and system integration
• Proven experience managing vendors and contracts and delivering on-premise, cloud and SaaS solutions
• Strong communication skills and experience working with senior executives, regulators and external partners
• Strategic mindset with good business understanding and a record of driving technical and organisational change
• Good understanding of IT controls, software development processes, agile delivery and operational risk management
• Leadership, a solution-oriented approach and a commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to influence across international organisations
