Job Summary

The Junior Accountant supports the Finance organization by performing foundational accounting activities to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and adherence to internal controls. This role assists in financial close processes, reconciliations, and reporting under the guidance of more senior team members, while building technical accounting knowledge and professional expertise.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
• Perform basic variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts and upscale discrepancies.
• Maintain and update accounting records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Support audit processes by gathering documentation and responding to requests.
• Execute assigned internal control procedures (SOX) under supervision.
• Assist with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Participate in financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting to support business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve routine accounting issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and standardize tasks, with guidance from senior staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of accounting or finance experience (internship experience acceptable).
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Progress toward a professional certification (CPA or equivalent).
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Internship or experience in a corporate or shared services environment.
