We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Manager (f/m/d) Copyright Data Services (Audiovisual) to join our Global Copyright Services team in Berlin. As the Manager of Copyright Data Services (Audiovisual), you will play a key role in driving our success in music publishing by ensuring that the song and music cue sheet data we receive from our clients for Film, TV- and other A-V productions is analyzed, prepared, processed, and ingested for accurate worldwide registration with collecting societies.
What you’ll be doing
- Prepare audiovisual song data for global registration with collecting societies, ensuring compliance with music publishing standards
- Coordinate the conversion and digitization of cue sheets with third-party vendors
- Generate rolled-up cues to maintain comprehensive music data management
- Match and process song files to ensure the integrity and accuracy of music metadata
- Prepare audio-visual production load files for seamless ingestion into music publishing systems
- Operate and contribute to the development of our internal databases and workflow processes
- Collaborate with Data Stewards to automate audiovisual processing procedures
- Communicate effectively with internal colleagues across BMG’s global offices
What you bring
- Significant experience in metadata management within the music industry, preferably at a music publisher or collecting society
- A profound understanding of music publishing operations and copyright administration
- Deep expertise in specific copyright rules for audiovisual repertoire and experience with cue sheet processing in a music publishing context
- Preferably, some initial experience in writing SQL queries and a good understanding of databases and filetypes such as CSV, JSON, CWR or AVR
- Familiarity with Python and data process automation skills are a plus
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German or other languages is an advantage
- Display sharp analytical skills for accurate data processing
- Balance meticulous attention to detail with efficiency
- Excel in self-management and effective time management
- Strong communication skills for clear and effective interactions
- A track record of successful teamwork, nurturing positive and productive collaborations
