Cloud-based Data platforms play a crucial role at BMW to provide our stakeholders with a robust, scalable, and efficient data backbone. Join us as a Dev-Ops Engineer for our Data platform, where you will play a key role in architecting, developing and deploying solutions with a global team for data driven solutions.By leveraging cloud technologies and implementing best practices in data governance you will play a significant role in driving BMW’s digital transformation journey.
What awaits you?
- You design and maintain scalable and reliable distributed systems based on AWS services.
- Furthermore, you work with distributed database systems and SQL using frameworks such as MapReduce and Spark.
- You develop clean and maintainable Python code while consistently applying testing best practices.
- Additionally, you implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform.
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and improve data governance and pipeline management.
- You maintain and adapt knowledge graphs and ontologies for data-driven use cases.
- Together with an international team, you contribute to the continuous advancement of our cloud-based data platform.
What should you bring along?
- University degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience with a focus on data-driven technologies.
- Extensive experience in distributed systems and cloud architecture, especially with AWS.
- Strong knowledge of distributed database systems, SQL, data pipeline management, and data governance.
- Proficiency in Python programming and solid understanding of software engineering principles.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Business-fluent English skills; German language skills are desirable.
