Corporate Coverage - Vice President - Pilot

The Coverage VP plays a fundamental role within the Corporate Coverage business model by assuming a key role on three dimensions: a strong commercial focus, credit expertise, and KYC/Compliance & ESG strong knowledge. The position is based in Zurich.

Responsibilities

• Apply existing policies and procedures, and operations within Corporate Coverage to all tasks in the three dimensions, ensuring that marketing and execution materials meet high quality standards.
• Support Bankers in developing client relationships and profitability, including preparing and following up on the Client Action Plan.
• Manage routine tasks (deal execution, portfolio management, client management, risk analysis, marketing) with full autonomy and participate in internal communications to facilitate effective delivery of all tasks.
• Assist in managing client relationships under the supervision of a Managing Director on complex or strategic dialogues.
• Monitor overall risks and credit processes of a portfolio of Pilot Groups and MNCs, performing risk analysis and forming credit opinions for each request and client.
• Present credit opinions to risk management colleagues under senior supervision, and support junior colleagues in presenting these opinions.
• Own the KYC and ESG processes for the portfolio of clients, working with dedicated teams to treat and report any identified compliance or ESG risks and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Demonstrate strong autonomy in completing onboarding and recertification tasks, avoiding delays and overdue items.
• Collaborate with team members and other internal teams to provide creative solutions to problems, prioritise workload, and act as a point of escalation for more junior staff.
• Maintain and update internal systems related to risk, marketing, and general management.

Education / Experience

• Degree in Finance and/or Economics and/or Accounting with a strong knowledge of financial analysis under IFRS and local standards.
• At least 6 years’ experience in Banking for a VP role.

Skills and Competencies

• Good knowledge of the corporate banking environment and a solid understanding of the transaction process from end‑to‑end.
• Ability to quickly master internal mechanisms of BNPP to deliver to the client.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with solid financial analysis knowledge.
• Team player and business‑minded with an acute sense of risk.
• Ability to build an independent opinion on a file and convince stakeholders.
• Self‑starter with good initiative.
• Flexibility and eagerness to improve performance.
• Fluency in German and English; French is a plus.
• Experience in Lifesciences and Tech sector is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
