Overview
As the Category Leader, you drive strategic sourcing and supplier development to boost long-term competitiveness, cost efficiency, and innovation. You’ll shape category strategies, forge strong supplier partnerships, and influence business outcomes. You’ll lead cross-functional teams, manage supplier performance, and support budgeting while ensuring compliance. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on negotiations in an international industrial environment.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Achieve annual cost savings targets through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations
- Define and implement category strategies aligned with objectives and market trends
- Build long-term partnerships with suppliers to ensure quality and innovation
- Conduct strategic negotiations and manage supplier performance via KPIs
- Analyze markets and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and present performance reports and recommendations to senior management
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive value creation, technology roadmaps, and category innovation
- Support budgeting and forecasting for the assigned category
- Coach and support buyers in negotiation and sourcing strategy execution
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Completed degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field
- 8–10 years of experience in strategic procurement or category management
- Proven track record in achieving cost savings and developing supplier partnerships
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Experience with ERP and data analysis tools
- Strategic thinker with ability to influence and drive cross-functional collaboration
- Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage
