Our team:

We are a midsized department of friendly open-source enthusiasts. Outside of coffee chats, we focus on IaC, automation, and continuously improving the systems that serve millions of users. We build the platform that lets our development teams manage cloud infrastructure, automate critical processes, and keep shared systems like CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and central metrics/logging infrastructure running smoothly.

Who are we looking for:

You think in terms of golden paths and self-service, not one-off favors, and you'd rather build the tool that fixes the problem for everyone than fix it manually for the fifth team this month. You have opinions about YAML indentation, a healthy suspicion of anything configured by hand in a console, and you get a little too excited when a Terraform plan comes back clean on the first try. You're early-to-mid career — maybe coming from a Dev, DevOps, or Systems Engineering role — but you already think in systems, not tickets, and you're hungry to go deeper into the platform side of things.

What you will be doing:

• Join the Platform Engineering team within Digital Enablement (alongside Cloud Infra, Security, and IT-Ops)
• Work closely with your department and with the engineering teams you support
• Get hands-on daily with AWS, Kubernetes, Backstage, GitHub, and AI-assisted engineering tools
• Improve developer experience — help teams upgrade their stack and pipelines, contribute to shared libraries, and strengthen testing and staging setups
• Think about the next iteration of CI/CD or driving innovation on other topics

What we call required:

• Hands-on experience in a Dev, DevOps, or Systems Engineering role, with exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and Terraform/CloudFormation — we're not expecting mastery, just a real foundation to build on
• Strong problem-solving instincts, adaptability, and a willingness to take ownership without being asked twice
• Strong communication skills — English required, German a plus
• An ability to weigh developer experience, setup complexity, and company requirements against each other, rather than optimizing for just one
• Some knowledge of application and infrastructure security

What we call desired:

• Broader exposure to CI/CD and a solid understanding of the full SDLC
• Some software development chops (Java, Python, or Golang preferred)
• Experience with observability tools
• A genuine passion for Infrastructure- and Configuration-as-Code, and a healthy aversion to Click-Ops
• Knowledge of GoatOps
