Continuity of Operations and Information Communications Technology Planner

Key Role:

Apply a broad understanding of how to plan, implement, sustain, and improve a Continuity of Operations (COOP) program addressing planning and communications technologies that enable a large organization to sustain its command, control, and communications capabilities when faced with a disruption to its normal operational environment. Facilitate collective problem solving, analysis and implementation of lessons learned, new solutions, and best practices. Apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and may supervise team members. Serve as a Continuity of Operations (COOP) planner supporting the overall COOP Program and Information Communications Technologies (ICT) for a Combatant Command. Oversee the strategic planning, integration, and implementation of COOP strategies and ICT solutions. Develop and execute plans for sustainment, training, and exercises for COOP and ICT resiliency. Implement an evolving COOP structure and CONOPS. Provide full-spectrum, senior-level consultant SME support, working with internal partners, external organizations and agencies, leveraging well developed relationships and understanding of roles and responsibilities within the DoD, other Combatant Commands, defense agencies, and elements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with strategic or operational-level planning

  • 3+ years of experience at the Major Command level or higher

  • 3+ years of experience in Continuity of Operations or Resilience Planning

  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mission Assurance

  • Experience with ICT Resilience

  • Possession of excellent analytical skills at the operational level

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Master’s degree

  • Professional Continuity Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
