What You\'ll Do

As an Analyst – BCG Vantage on our Topic Activation path within BCG\'s Risk & Compliance (R&C) Practice Area, you will work in a growing global team, providing industry and topic expertise and insights, and collaborating with BCG case and proposal teams to deliver customized knowledge assets and expert advisory. You will support your topic in developing existing and new intellectual property and knowledge assets. Part of the role is acting in a consulting capacity to case teams and the remainder managing assets, IP, tools and team processes.

You will own the production of bi-yearly Flagship Reports, the Global Treasury Benchmarking Survey and the Financial Institutions Balance Sheet Optimisation Tool; ensuring accuracy and contributing to their enhancement.

You will support client cases by developing recommendations for individual clients and join the Consulting Team on pitches and client cases with analysis and insights.

The R&C PA helps clients manage key risks strategically, advance organizational resilience, and establish a profound risk culture by defining and transforming R&C operating models. We cover a diverse set of topics across financial and non-financial risks and assist in enabling clients\' strategy through technical enablement with our expertise in risk modelling, analytics and digitization.

Our Balance Sheet Optimisation client work helps clients find levers to optimize the risk/return profile of the Balance Sheet and build capabilities to realize the benefits. We aim to help clients balance risk and return from structural Balance Sheet risks and from deploying financial resources, covering liquidity risk, refinancing/funding, interest rate risk, security investments/pensions, capital stack/capital efficiency, and FX & commodity risk.

YOU\'RE GOOD AT

• The technical setup of databases (including connecting external data providers), questionnaire production and consolidation of results
• Simple calculation engines
• Standardizing Balance sheet and Profit and Loss analysis of banks (benchmark of external data in standardized output) – prepare tooling, data management and gathering externally available data
• Profit and Loss potential analysis: standardized outside-in P&L uplift analysis based on external data (e.g., cost-cutting or Risk Weighted Asset Uplift analysis) – prepare tooling, data management and gather externally available data
• Working capital models: standardized output of working capital analysis for corporates – maintain tooling, data management and gather externally available data
• Applying topic/sector expertise when contributing to building and deploying a product/tool/data, considering different client contexts
• Working collaboratively and effectively in a group dynamic, often virtual, with agile ways of working
• Communicating with senior stakeholders, being credible and proactive
• Framing, structuring, and sharing intellectual property, with the ability to write clearly and concisely, producing automated client decks (based on pre-defined formats)
• Working creatively and analytically in a time-limited, problem-solving environment
• Flexibility and a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas
• Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity
• Interacting with internal and external stakeholders while working in a global collaborative team environment

What You\'ll Bring

• Knowledge of Treasury/Finance (balance sheet, capital and P&L of banks/corporates) and knowledge of market data (interest rates, Foreign Exchange, bond markets)
• Master\'s degree relevant to Balance Sheet Optimisation
• 1+ year of relevant work experience in Financial Institutions
• Or Bachelor\'s degree with a minimum of 1+ year consulting experience or 2+ years of relevant industry work experience in Finance and/or risk
• Required: fluency in English and German. Desired: Fluency in Spanish
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
