ABOUT THE ROLE
The Public Affairs & Health Economics & Market Access senior specialist plays a key role in shaping and executing Boston Scientific's market access and public affairs strategy in Switzerland. Leveraging a deep understanding of the Swiss healthcare system, reimbursement landscape, and policy environment, this role identifies and drives opportunities to improve patient access to innovative medical technologies. The successful candidate will lead reimbursement and public affairs initiatives across multiple business divisions, working closely with internal stakeholders and external decision‑makers (including government authorities, payers, healthcare providers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and industry associations) to influence policy, secure sustainable reimbursement, and strengthen Boston Scientific's position in the healthcare ecosystem. In addition, the role will adapt health economic evidence to local market needs, generate real‑world insights, and support commercial strategies by demonstrating the clinical and economic value of Boston Scientific's technologies. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess reimbursement opportunities and challenges facing the business’ emerging technologies and commercially marketed products and communicate business impact to senior management. Lead development and execution of practical strategies to secure optimal reimbursement (coding/coverage/payment) for Boston Scientific products and procedures. Identify key health economics needs for Boston Scientific platform products, working with health economics and outcomes research colleagues to determine actions required. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in the development and communication of economic value messages to support product adoption. Manage provision of appropriate internal training to sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and legal to increase awareness and understanding of health economics and market access competencies and their role in supporting a product’s success. Monitor healthcare policy, reimbursement, and funding developments, proactively identifying risks and opportunities that may impact the business. Build and maintain strategic relationships with government representatives, healthcare policymakers, payers, hospital leaders, physician societies, and key opinion leaders to advance patient access and favourable policy outcomes. Represent Boston Scientific within relevant industry associations and external working groups, contributing to healthcare policy discussions, reimbursement reform, and initiatives that improve access to innovative medical technologies. Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. YOUR PROFILE
Degree in Life Sciences, Health Economics or Political Science, with Post Graduate Health Economics or public affairs qualification ideal. Significant experience in Market Access, Health Economics, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, or Healthcare Policy within the MedTech industry (preferred) or the pharmaceutical sector. Fluency in English and German (C2 level or native) to support cross‑country collaboration and communication in a multinational environment. French is an asset. Good knowledge of the Health System in Switzerland: how it is structured, funded, and reimbursed. Demonstrated ability to influence policy and build stakeholder relationships. Solid work experience involving leadership of functional and cross‑functional teams. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with the agility to adapt to changing priorities and respond positively to new challenges. A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, generate innovative ideas, and drive continuous improvement by leveraging best practices and insights. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to develop relationships at all levels in an organization.
