Direct Materials Procurement Specialist (Contract) in Garching

Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced Direct Materials Procurement Specialist to support a high-priority supply chain initiative.
• This supplier-facing role will focus on managing material shortages, driving supply gap closures, negotiating additional supplier capacity, and providing supply risk visibility to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage supplier commitments and material coverage across short- and long-term planning horizons.
• Analyze supply coverage data and provide updates for business review meetings.
• Work with Supply Planning teams to manage allocations and mitigate shortages.
• Negotiate additional volumes, capacity increases, and production swaps with suppliers.
• Track and communicate supply risks, recovery plans, and mitigation actions.
• Perform root cause analysis on material shortages and support escalation activities.
• Present supplier recovery timelines, shortage status, and procurement actions to stakeholders.
• Support decisions regarding potential customer communications related to supply constraints.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Planning, or Supplier Management.
• Strong experience managing supplier relationships and negotiations.
• Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
• Experience with shortage management, supply planning, and risk mitigation.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, IBP, or similar planning tools preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
